Dubai airports bolster Emiratis in frontline roles with fire service training program


Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dubai Airports is strengthening Emiratis in frontline roles with the first group of graduates from its cutting-edge emergency services training program structured to develop a world-class team of Emirati firefighters at Dubai International ( DXB) trained to the highest industry and professional standards and ready to respond to any possible emergency. Following this first group of graduates, which included 23 trainees, Dubai Airports is actively recruiting the next cohort of Emiratis to join its world-class firefighting team.

The new program empowers and enables nationals to succeed in the airport fire service department and enhance their broader career skills in the aviation industry. Graduates completed an intensive 14-week training program which included six weeks of English training delivered in partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), followed by an intensive eight-week firefighting training program provided by the International Fire Training Centre-Serco at Dubai World. Central Airport (DWC).

Dubai Airports has one of the largest airport fire departments in the world at two airports. The department is fully equipped with a fleet of Aviation Rosenbauer vehicles fitted with the latest in aircraft firefighting technology and security checks, domestic vehicles, MICC (Mobile Incident Command Vehicle) to monitor incidents, tanker trucks, as well as fire escape vehicles at each location.
