A new evacuation order was issued just before 11 a.m. for Upper Angler Mountain, not including Fly Line Drive, due to wildfire activity. Fly Line Drive and Bald Eagle Road, west of the bridge, are in pre-evacuation condition.

The fire has burned about 20 acres and is burning in a thick mixed forest of dead aspens, lodgepole pines and lodgepole spruce trees.

A shelter for these residents – from the Hamilton Creek Subdivision – has been set up at Summit Middle School in Frisco. South 40 is in a state of pre-evacuation.

There has been a drop in temperatures in Summit County overnight and this should help with the firefight, which takes place in the Ptarmigan Wilderness, located northeast of Silverthorne.

Authorities said they expected higher humidity and the onset of an anticipated cold front to be favorable to the fight against the fires as well.
