MONROVIA- An LRA team has completed a 10-day tour of LRA offices in five counties in the southeastern region of Liberia.

The team was made up of representatives from the Administration and General Services Departments and the Taxpayer Services Division.

The visit covered LRA Tax Trade Offices (TBOs) and Customs Trade Offices (CBOs) in Sinoe, Grand Kru, Maryland, Rivergee and Grand Gedeh counties.

The initiative aimed to provide customer service training to LRA staff assigned to counties and, at the same time, to assess local office conditions.

The goal is to strengthen compliance and improve service delivery with the goal of increasing revenue collection and growth.

The activity highlighted presentations on techniques and skills for delivering effective taxpayer education, client relations and engagement as well as documenting critical information on the status of TBOs and CBOs, among others.

The just completed tour was the first phase of the exercise, while the second and third phases are expected to begin in the coming months.

Meanwhile, LRA personnel assigned to the five counties expressed their thanks to the joint team for the visit and called on senior leadership to consider doing the same on a regular basis.

The LRA is the Liberian government institution with primary legal revenue collection responsibilities for the country.
