New vehicles will feature World Cup logo from June: official

All new vehicles in Qatar, which have not been registered before, will have license plates bearing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 logo from June, in addition to the special plates announced at a recent auction.
This was announced by a Ministry of Interior (MoI) official at Milipol Qatar 2022 on Wednesday.
Various MoI departments are showcasing the latest homeland security and civil defense technology and equipment at Milipol Qatar 2022 with the aim of enhancing its security, policing and service efforts and expediting the completion of transactions.
These include equipment and technologies that have already been launched as well as those that are in the pipeline.
The MoI Pavilion of Milipol Qatar 2022 is one of the largest pavilions participating in this year’s edition, housing the various departments of the ministry.
Lt. Faisal Abdulaziz al-Haydous, officer of the vehicle license plate workshop, explained that the pavilion includes samples of the plates that were recently auctioned electronically to sell special issues, organized by the General Directorate Traffic. The new plates will bear the logo of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Lt. al-Haydous said all new – and previously unregistered – vehicles will have championship logo plates from next month, in addition to the distinguished plates advertised at the auction.
The General Directorate of Traffic is also presenting the smart test car, which will be used for testing in driving schools. Capt. Salem Hamad al-Jahweel, the licensing manager, said the car has the particularity of monitoring driver errors without any human intervention, as it is equipped with high-resolution sensors and cameras. The car has a mapping system that includes data on all roads in the country, including specified speeds on all roads.
The smart test car can also archive the tests for future use and is linked to a smart app that allows the driver to know and view the test result directly, as well as to know the errors in the event of a fault. In addition, it transmits a live image to the relevant traffic authority, enabling direct communication with the driver inside the car.
For its part, the General Directorate of Civil Defense unveiled a modern firefighting and rescue vehicle, the first of its kind in Qatar. The vehicle is designed for rough areas, especially sandy areas. The management also presents a modern fire monitoring drone.
Captain Abdulhadi Ali Al Marri explained that the new vehicle is a four-wheel drive vehicle equipped with a pump and an auxiliary tank with a capacity of 200 liters, and a foam tank with a capacity of 20 liters. It is intended for rugged wilderness areas and contains built-in rescue equipment to remove injured people from vehicles that have suffered serious accidents. The vehicle also includes all the modern technologies that will help it perform its tasks.
Regarding the drone, he said that it is a modern aircraft equipped with thermal cameras and high-precision sensors, and is dedicated to monitoring fires from above, determination of the location of a fire with high precision and the transmission of a direct image for fire and emergency vehicles to alert areas threatened by fire and people at risk. In addition to video, it can monitor sounds through a high-resolution microphone.
He added that the pavilion also includes a device for detecting leaks of hazardous materials in industrial areas, which can measure at a distance of more than 300 m.
The pavilion also introduces visitors to the tasks and services of the Department of Prevention and the Department of Preventive Education, in addition to a section dedicated to the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College, which reviews the most important student programs and registration requirements for admission.
For its part, the Directorate General of Coastal and Border Security presents a gyrocopter, a new introduction to the directorate dedicated to research and exploration operations. It is characterized by its ability to fly at low altitude, does not need a runway to land and can land on water, and is equipped with high-resolution cameras.
In addition, First Lieutenant Hamid al-Humaidi said that the General Directorate of Coastal and Border Security also has long-haul boats whose mission is to protect Qatar’s borders and territorial waters to combat smuggling. and crime and reduce illegal fishing.
He explained that this type of boat consists of three classes (48/34/24m), with a speed of 35 knots. It is characterized by easy maneuverability and includes the latest radars, communication systems and electronic charts.
The General Directorate of Industrial Security also participates in Milipol Qatar with a section introducing visitors to the tasks and duties of the directorate, which include the protection of industrial towns and pipelines and inspection methods, as well as the procedures necessary to Obtain permits to enter industrial zones. sectors, according to Major Ali Hisham al-Mannai, director of Ras Laffan’s security and operations department at the general directorate of industrial security.
Visitors to the pavilion are also introduced to the Al-Adheed service, which is a communication service between the MoI and members of the society. The service allows the public to easily transmit and transfer notes of all kinds (security, criminal, social, etc.) as well as complaints, suggestions and information to the competent authorities.
On the other hand, the Department of Criminal Evidence and Information of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation examines the latest technologies used by the department in carrying out its tasks, the technological evolution of the devices used and the nature of daily work.
The National Command Center seeks to acquaint visitors with the tasks and functions it performs in the process of strengthening security and safety in the country, in addition to presenting the latest technologies it uses.
